LMFSC SERVICE POLICY
ALL FAMILIES OF LMFSC SKATERS ARE REQUIRED TO SATISFY A TEN CREDIT VOLUNTEER SERVICE REQUIREMENT EACH YEAR:

It takes more than 1000 service hours in four general areas to do the work of the Lake Minnetonka Figure Skating Club each year. Service hours generally fall into one of four categories: Fundraising, Service, Leadership and Safety. Service hours help to raise money used by the board to keep the cost of ice and other club events down during the course of the year. When we volunteer at LMFSC, we show our kids how much their hard work and effort mean to us. By volunteering to help lead LMFSC we are simply taking "our turn" helping maintain an organization with more than thirty years invested in developing young athletes and people. Lastly, we volunteer in an effort to keep our rink and our kids safe.

Service Options

If a family, for any reason, is unable to fulfill his/her assigned volunteer requirement, it is the responsibility of that parent (not the volunteer coordinators) to find a replacement for the position/assignment. To satisfy this requirement, parents will be allowed to choose from the list of available volunteer positions.  The attached sign-up outlines the jobs available and the amount of hours credited per position. However, those positions that the Board of Directors determines to be a priority shall be assigned before any other positions are assigned. If you need help determining what job might be a good fit for you,  contact the LMFSC Volunteer Chair.

Penalty for Not Completing Service Requirement

If a parent fails to meet these requirements by the date due or does not pay the penalty fee described below, the skater(s) shall be deemed to be “not in good standing” with LMFSC and US Figure Skating.  Skaters deemed “not in good standing” will not be allowed to: BUY CLUB ICE, TEST, COMPETE, COACH OR RENEW THEIR OFFICIAL US FIGURE SKATING  MEMBERSHIP until such time as the requirement or monetary equivalent has been completed/submitted and accepted by the skater’s home club. If a member fails to fulfill the required number of service hours, the member will be charged $250 per skater per year.

THERE WILL BE A $25 FEE CHARGED IF THE REQUIRED 2 CREDITS ARE NOT COMPLETED AT THE SUNFLOWER CLASSIC IN MARCH.
